** New Trails Opened in 2012: Water Fall Trail is a fairly easy trail that follows and crosses a creek bed to a waterfall that is about 10-15 feet high and 30-40 feet wide. It is about 8/10 of a mile round trip. The Trail Head is located in the middle of Branson at the intersection of Roark Valley Road and Shepherd of the Hills Expressway, near the entrance to the Royal Oak Charcoal Plant and the Westgate Resort. Look for the "Waterfall Trail" signs.
** Added in 2011: A series of trails have been opened on Hwy. 165 across from the entrance to the Showboat Branson Belle out by the State Park. There are about 12 miles of natural surface trails that can be used for hiking and biking! They are easy to moderate trails to hike and bike and a great place to "get away" for awhile!
** Taneycomo Bridge: A new bridge has been built across Lake Taneycomo that connects Branson and Hollister on Business 65/Hwy. 76. Work was started at the beginning of 2010 and was opened in November. Part of the cliff on the Hollister side had to be blasted away to make room for the round-about that is used to keep the traffic flowing. The new bridge will take traffic from Hollister to Branson Landing Blvd. The old bridge deck was removed and replaced. The two bridges and the round-about have help the traffic back ups between Branson and Hollister greatly!
